Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the DEVS platform operated at begindevs.com ("the Service"), provided by DEVS ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What DEVS Is
DEVS is an online skills training platform that provides interactive, browser-based practice environments for software development team workflows. DEVS is not an accredited educational institution. We do not grant degrees, diplomas, certificates, or professional credentials. Completion of DEVS labs or projects does not constitute a formal qualification.
2. No Employment Guarantees
DEVS is designed to help you practice team delivery skills. We make no guarantees regarding employment outcomes, job placement, salary levels, or career advancement. Any references to interview preparation, portfolio building, or hiring readiness describe the intended purpose of the training, not guaranteed results.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
DEVS plans to offer Free, Pro, and Founding Member tiers. Specific billing terms, including pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refund policies, will be detailed here before paid subscriptions become available. No payment is required to join the early access list.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service
- Use automated tools to scrape content or data from the Service
6. Your Content
Code you write within DEVS labs is yours. We do not claim ownership of your code, commit messages, PR descriptions, or other content you create within the platform. However, by using the public profile feature, you grant us a license to display your delivery record data (project names, stats, skills) on your public profile page.
7. Intellectual Property
The DEVS platform, including lab content, reviewer personas, UI design, and documentation, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
8. Availability and Changes
We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that affect paid subscribers.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DEVS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which DEVS is incorporated.
